Play is een project waarbij een Expanded Cinema Environment wordt gecreëerd op een plaats in de openbare ruimte, waarbij de projectie en het geluid een directe relatie aangaan met de bezoekers en met de omgeving. Het project is bedoeld als een hedendaagse 're-enactment' van het 'multimedia-event' Corpocinema uit 1967. Tijdens dit event, dat op het Museumplein in Amsterdam plaatsvond, stond een combinatie van kunst en technologie centraal. Tijdens Play zal worden geëxperimenteerd met het samengaan van videobeelden en geluid, waarbij de uitkomst wordt gepresenteerd in een surround installatie.

Play is an open-air Expanded Cinema Environment event. Projections, light and sound will come together to form an immersing environment. In 1967 the multi-media event Corpocinema took place on the museumplein, in Amsterdam. Play is a re-enactment of this event and, like its predecessor, technology and art form a central component. Play will be an experimentation to combine video, light and sound together into a cohesive whole using a self-developed, syncronized and surround sound/visual system.
